Greenline Africa announces first part of framework agreement Absolicon

The South African company Greenline Africa has announced the first part in the framework agreement on Absolicon’s robotised production line in South Africa – a pilot plant for AB InBev.

The need for energy is high in African industries. A typical brewery fires fuels equivalent to thousands of tons of oil per year. At the same time, the sun can supply the industry with all the heat needed for the processes.

Greenline Afrika has signed a framework agreement with Absolicon to acquire and operate a robotized production line that manufactures Absolicon’s concentrating solar collector T160, with 76% optical efficiency. The solar collectors produce heat and steam up to 160 degrees Celsius for industrial processes.

The framework agreement contains requirements for each time period and now Greenline has ordered the first step – a pilot plant with solar collectors that is delivered directly from Sweden.

- This order and upcoming payment meet the Greenline timetable in the framework agreement. This is an important step in delivering a production line to South Africa in 2021, says Joakim Byström, CEO of Absolicon.

Greenline will carry out the installation at a brewery belonging to AB InBev, the world’s largest brewery group. Absolicon’s technology was recently selected for AB InBev’s accelerator program with the goal of applying the technology to AB InBev’s 260 breweries and to selected subcontractors to reduce cost and carbon dioxide emissions in production.

The production line costs €4M and in addition Greenline pays 4% license for manufactured solar collectors. Absolicon also sells key components needed for the production of solar collectors. The robots in the production line work together with five operators and can produce one solar collector every six minutes.

This information is information that Absolicon Solar Collector AB is obliged to make public pursuant to the EU Market Abuse Regulation. The information was submitted, through the agency of the above contact person, for publication on 31 March 2020.
